I have taken CCP classes already, should I take one this summer?

I've already completed several CCP classes in my junior year. I am wondering if I should take more in my senior year or if I should focus on my high school classes.

Thank you comment icon That’s great! I’ve been an Academic Advisor and an academic administrator, 17 years of higher ed experience.... The big questions are do you know what major you want? Do you know what schools you want to attend? If you don’t know what major you want are you taking prerequisites? Are you taking gen eds that may be required? Too many students all gen eds count. They don’t if a school has required geneds. You are building a resume in college. What else are you doing besides classes? Look into majors. Look into schools. Attend school open houses as soon as possible. Ask about requirements for majors. Ta Rus
Thank you comment icon Thank you both, I appreciate your feedback. I am thinking of attending Liberty University as a pre-med major. All of my CCP classes so far have been gen-ed classes, since they are the most likely to transfer. Kaitlin
Thank you comment icon Pre-Med! Wow, that’s great! How do you know the credits will count? Did you speak to the Registrar’s Office? The courses also have to be considered the same rigor/content offered at the school you attend. That’s the hard part if students complete courses at different institutions. Courses do not always transfer. Students should contact the school you want to attend and ask the Registrar/Advisor in the major you want to complete about transfer credits. Lower level math and science courses are great classes to complete early. You don’t want to complete a lot of non math/science. College students mix up their scheduled. Less rigorous this way. Phone Admissions at Liberty and ask about open houses. It’s an event students and parents attend to visit colleges. Ta Rus
Thank you comment icon I have contacted Liberty University, and the credits will transfer. I will look into taking some math and science courses, that was a helpful tip. Thank you! Kaitlin
Thank you comment icon Great! I’m glad it was helpful! Best wishes to you! Ta Rus

Focusing on your high school classes should be your number one priority. But if you're already doing great there, then taking college classes is a great idea to get ahead of the curve!

Just don't forget to balance your involvements - it might be good to try out some sports or other extra curricular activities like Model United Nations. It'll help you become healthier or be more aware of topics you might not otherwise learn in school.
