Requirements for certification do vary per state- but an accredited school should prepare you- I would recommend when your time comes to choose a school if they are in a different state than where you want to teach look up the requirements of your state against the programs that way you're set up for success- good luck!
Yes, it's called teacher reciprocity. If you have obtained a teaching license in one state, you must contact the Department of Education in other states to get one issued in one of those states.

Kylie,
As you move from one state to another you might be required to take a state specific history exam in order to teach in that state. It's usually not a big deal and doesn't take too much time. When you get ready to make the transition to the new state, follow Janel's advice and reach out to the Department of Education for that state and ensure you understand any additional courses you need to take in order to obtain your teaching license for that state. I wish you the best of luck!
