I want to be a politician and a businesswoman in the future. Can I do both at the same time?

I'ts really rare to see a politician being a businesswoman at the same,so I was wondering if I could be that type of person. And in college,is there any major that gives you the chance to interact with both of the proffesion?

Ho Chi Minh,

You can do both. It all lies with your priorities and how you balance your time. I would start looking into volunteering or internships in both fields to help you gain experience and it may even provide insight into the daily lives of those professionals. You might find a businesswoman/politician to shadow or have an information interview with on LinkedIn. Hope that helps! Good luck.

Hi,
Absolutely, you can do both. I think that a lot of times we (the public) may not realize that a lto of Politicians started off in business and may still be in business but have other people running them and they are just owner,s co-owners, leaders and shareholders and may not involved in their businesses on a daily basis. I would suggest researching some of the more well know female (and male) politicians online to read about their histories and see what else they do on the business side.

As for college, you can do a major in Political Science and a minor in business or vice versa...also using your elective courses for your specific interests is a good way do be more well rounded.
good luck!
