Brock’s Answer

Like others have stated, your time in college or university can be as fulfilling as you make it. It’s a great time for you to try different hobbies and classes to find out what you enjoy and discover your strengths. Personally, I participated in several clubs and sports. For example, my college had a Quidditch Club. As a big Harry Potter fan and athlete, I decided to join and it was one of my favorite college experiences.

During your time at college, you will have the opportunity to take many diverse classes. You should take full advantage of that, especially early in your college career. For example, I took a Criminal Sociology course, which ended up being one of my favorites. That class inspired me to change my major from Business to Sociology, and I never looked back.

Best of luck!

Joey’s Answer

I loved it mostly because it was a chance to discover who I really was. After high school, stepping into a completely new environment gave me an opportunity to teach people about who I was and let them teach me about who I was going to become. Go into it like an open book and approach every opportunity with a responsible "YES" attitude and you will come out of graduation a well-versed, open-minded individual.

Joey recommends the following next steps:

Immediately join a club that interests you.
Introduce yourself to everyone around you.

Carly’s Answer

I am currently a senior in college, and I love it! College is a really unique time to focus on developing yourself in any way you choose. I have found that joining clubs on campus expanded my network and allowed me to discover my personal and professional interests. Colleges offer so much guidance and support, and taking advantage of these resources has really helped me learn more about myself and my interests. I will also say that it has been a lot of fun - it was my first chance to live alone and be independent, which is a very exciting and important experience!

Faareha’s Answer

College or University is really what you make of it. The more you engage with opportunities outside your classes, the more you get out of it! There are many skills you learn, and one important skill is time management. You have to figure out how you balance your time between classes and other opportunities, whether that's clubs, tutoring, attending company events, meeting friends, etc. There are so many services on campus too - career services, mental health services, etc. Take advantage of those, especially if you need it, but also because you're paying for it :D

It's a time for self discovery, for learning life skills, for making life long friendships and for losing friendships that don't work out for you. Keep an open mind and embrace it :)
