Hi Sabeel, Two questions for you: (1) What do you mean when you say "startups by me"? Do you mean close to where you are or do you mean what are some startups that have to do with mechanical engineering? (2) Can you explain a little further what your career plan is right now so we can help fill in some of the blanks for you?

In general you can imagine that startups that require mechanical engineering skills are going to be in industries where mechanical engineering plays a big role. Any startup in the automotive industry (such as Tesla), the aerospace industry (such as SpaceX), or other industrials fields will have some mechanical engineering needs. I met a founder recently who was building a company that designed a new type of heat pump that allowed him to increase efficiency for industrials companies. This is something he built a prototype for in graduate school at a university, and then decided to create a business around.

A great resource I sometimes use to find startups in a certain field is AngelList (URL is angel.co). You can use it to filter by location as well if you're trying to find startups near you geographically.

Thank you comment icon Thanks for your response.Yeah I mean that "What are some startups that have to do with mechanical engineering Sabeel

I think Jared Chung did a good job at answering your question. Since I am also not sure about the context of your question I am only going to add the following. Entrepreneurship is an exercise in passion and solving a problem. Your success as an entrepreneur has little to do with your skills as a mechanical engineer and more with your ability to inspire people to work for little or no money, to convince investors that you have what it takes to go from nothing to a propper business and finally your ability to identify a problem in a market that is willing to pay for that solution and where you can create certain competitive advantages. I invite you to ask more questions, be more descriptive and specific about your particulars and we will be more than happy to share our relevant experience with you.
