Do you think it is too hard to double major in history and musical theater?

I really love acting and singing, but I figure I can always do that as a hobby without training, and I will need a degree to get a job in a history field.

Hi Rachel! You can definitely double major in college. I like to think of your first major as your main interest and one that you know can help pay the bills. Your second major (or minor) can be somewhat of a hobby or side interest - so in your case that would be musical theater it seems. I majored in human and organizational development as my first major and Asian studies as my second major! Just make sure that you are able to meet the requirements of a double major (so the required courses for both) and any liberal core your college or university may have. I found that using the summer before you enter college to plan out your courses (which courses to take when) is super helpful and will keep you on track for graduation!

No, I don't believe its hard. I had two minors and a major. History was my minor, but I was only one class shy of a double major. You can easily do it.
