Assuming this is for college, it depends on a lot of factors I would say. If you are very good in this area with a proven track record, you likely stand a good chance of getting something. To a certain extent, this may depend on the college and whether they have scholarships specifically for your study area.

Another option is check with related professional organizations and local companies which might have scholarships meant to support and encourage your specific area of study.

I should also say that having community service work does not mean that you will get a merit scholarship, it may give you a boost relative to other candidates - but no guarantees

Sites such as www.CollegeBoard.org may be a source of information on available merit scholarships

Good luck and best regards
