Tiffany’s Answer

The primary difference is that an Environmental Epidemiologist deals with diseases that are caused by enviornmental factors. For example, typical epidemiologists research diseases in general (flu outbreaks, covid 19, etc.), while environmental epidemiologists study things such as cancer clusters in a specific geographic area that are likely caused by something in their environment. Good luck in your career path!

The best way to get an answer to this question is to contact an epidemiologist and ask the question in person. A good way to do this is to locate the local professional association to which epidemiologists belong in your area to phone the local contact person for an in person conversation and possibly arrange to attend a meeting, so that you can meet professionals and get to know them and their are more fully. Here is a link that will allow you to locate your local professional association to which pathologists belong in your area: ##
