Kirsten’s Answer

Hi Madison, it could be more challenging for your degree but it is definitely possible.  There is also an amazing opportunity you will have after graduating called Travel nursing where you work in different locations and change every 6 months!

Kirsten recommends the following next steps:

Talk to your college counselor about your required courses.
See if there is a study abroad program that fits your needs
Apply to be a travel nurse after graduating!

Loriel’s Answer

Hi Madison,

Doing a study abroad while you’re in your four years of undergraduate is a lot easier than most people think.

People think that study abroad is typically reserved for students who may be international studies or something along the lines of urban planning and design. However, there are a variety of study abroad programs that you can do that won’t take you too far off with your program of study.

Speaking from experience I had a general education requirement which required that I take a history class. My history class was through study abroad office at Cleveland State University. That was the history of World War I so I suppose sitting in the classroom for full semester I got to go to some actual sites in the Netherlands, and other surrounding areas in Europe and experienced World War I in a more impactful way .

The best thing for you to do would be to talk to your office of global education or the office of study abroad (whatever it’s called at your school) and to see what options are available for you.

Just because you’re in nursing doesn’t mean that you don’t get to study abroad there are plenty of opportunities and chances for you to do that while staying on track,
good luck!

Loriel recommends the following next steps:

Schedule appointment with your study abroad office to see what opportunities are available for you.
