Jeffrey’s Answer

I believe it is district-dependent when keeping up with professional development. Pay attention to the trends you see in your district. I'm a teacher and I see a lot more effort being put into virtual learning and programs for underrepresented students. So my PD is geared more to that. If you are looking to move up in the school district, research the leadership development opportunities you need to move to Specialist or Administrator.

Lotus’s Answer

A fantastic way that I have found to continue my education is going to conferences. Nearly all of them have workshops and interactive learning sessions that offer continuing education hours. If you have a niche subject, like STEM, business, nutrition, etc there are many conferences that are specific to these groups. Not only do they offer great, networking, lesson ideas and resources; conferences can be super fun and places to make educator friends.

Lotus recommends the following next steps:

Find a conference that tou would like to attend, out of town or in your state.
Find out if you'll be able to receive CEU hours for workshops offered.
Attend, be present and have fun!
