How can I be sure of what I want to major in?
My idea of career I want to do has been extremely vague. I love writing, get the best grade in math, and have an interest in psychology. However, I can never seem to narrow it down to what I want to do. And I'm terrified of the idea of choosing a major that I either don't enjoy or won't do well in. And I donot want to waste the time or money switching majors. #colleges #career

Congratulations on being interested in finding the right career to follow.. It takes a special person to enter into a specific career field and meet the demands which that career area presents. The first step is to get to know yourself to see if you share the personality traits which make one successful in that area. The next step is doing networking to meet and talk to and possibly shadow people doing what you might think that you want to do to see if this is something that you really want to do, as a career area could look much different on the inside than it looks from the outside. When I was doing college recruiting, I encountered too many students, who skipped these important steps, and ended up in a career/job for which they were ill suited. Below are some important steps towards selecting the most suitable career for you. Selecting a career area is like buying a pair of shoes. First you have to determine the correct size then you have to try on various shoes to determine which would be most suitable for you based upon the proper fit and comfort level.

Then it is important that you follow your passions.
So also know your abilities. It is imperative that you know what you are good at. Your strengths and your weaknesses.
Consider what the future looks like. What you think might be in high demand in the future. This will let you know that whatever profession or course you intend to pursue will be useful for you in the long term.
Make sure you give yourself enough time before you choose a career. Look at the Pros and Cons of the course.
Discuss it with people around you and hear their opinions.
So also ensure that you choose the right school where the course or profession you intend to major in is well resourced.
