I'm not sure about this one, but, have you considered something in Marketing or Business? In today's economy, we each have to be our own advocate, and, getting your work out there might require a bit of work on your part. What do you think?

I would recommend minoring in a major that holds an interest for you other than writing. For example, what do you like to do or read about? Are you a person who likes science fiction or maybe marine-biology? Pick something that holds your interest, but has no real tie to English as a major. I say this because you want to open your mind to other ways of thinking. English and Literature have their own set of rules. Science has a very different set. Math, Botany, Medicine, and Computer Science have their own. Trying something with different rules can get your creative mind going in different ways. Those differences will expand your horizon and bring more possibilities into your life about how to use that English major when you go into the workplace.
