Lashay’s Answer

Of you organize with flair, interior designer. If you do so for cleanliness, your job title could well be home or office organizer. I've seen some organizers work with horders to help them regain structure in their homes after gathering too many items in their homes to have a safe living environment. I recommend reviewing onet.org and typing in your skill in the search box to see what job titles appear. Good luck!

Lashay recommends the following next steps:

Review onet.org and type in your organization skill in the search box to see what job titles appear
Read the details of some by clicking on the job titles including information about pay, education needed, and what it's like to do the work

Wayne’s Answer

Mercedes. Organizing is a great skill and can actually be applied to most any field. All careers require some sort of organizing ability. Executive assistants are essential for organizing an executive's busy day. Production planners are essential for organizing a day's/week's/month's and year's production schedule. Process engineers must organize processes and keep looking for ways to improve them. Programmers must organize code and roll out plans to deliver a successful product. Material handlers must organize warehouse space. All of the roles mentioned in the other answers to this question must organize various things.

There are so many possibilities that I recommend starting at your interests and then looking for opportunities within those areas to use your skill as an organizer. Your interests may be science, people, numbers, nature, music, etc and all of them have opportunities to use your organizational skills.

Use the tools mentioned earlier to get some job titles and then search for jobs in the area you are interested in that have that or a similar title. If you want to own your own business, a lot of the things mentioned above can provide opportunities for that as well.

Hope this has helped. Good luck in your search.

Wayne recommends the following next steps:

list your interests and prioritize them. find out what areas they have in common since many are related in some way.
Focus on your top 2 or 3 and look for companies or opportunities in those areas that can use your skills.
Don't be afraid to change if your interests change. Change is going to happen so embrace it when it does.
Enjoy the journey which is called a "career" and may lead you to a lot of interesting places.

Hi Mercedes!

Wow, there is so much you can do as an organizer! There are professionals who design walk-in closets and kitchens. There are interior designers. There are efficiency experts (if every customer needs a receipt, why does it print out waaaaayyyyy over there? ) These people also work in production/manufacturing. In business, time really is money! There are also those who organize people - scheduling experts, get out the vote drives, etc.

Take a step back and ask yourself how you feel about arriving at decisions by "collaborating." If you enjoy working with others, even when it does not go your way, that's great! However, if you really want things to go your way, or, you prefer working alone, you will need to keep this in mind as you explore your career options!

best of luck!

Kim
