Paris is Haute Couture paradise! That would be the best place to learn about these types of designs. If you decide you want to stay in the states, New York is second-best. There is also a hot Couture dictionary you could purchase or maybe go to your local library and find information on Haute Couture and pictures. One of my favorite designers is Jeremy Scott.

Haute Couture is so theatrical and is special due to the expertise in construction along with design. Great interest indeed! I would say the best thing to immerse yourself in this style of art would be to visit the virtual museums that emphasize in fashion design (Victoria & Albert in London has a wonderful fashion through the ages collection, including a few Schiaparelli designs. I'm sure you can search for a virtual tour!), but the easiest might be to sign up for Vogue.com Runway newsletter. It's free and you can browse through whole past collections!
