How do I get accepted into Harvard?
Hello!
My name is Anna and I am a sophmore by the time summer break ends. I was wondering if I can do anything, or should do anything in particular to be able to get accepted into Harvard. I would want to be a doctor if you were wondering by the way! Any tips to get in and information about Harvard will help as well. Thank you. #medicine #dedicated #Harvard #ivy-league

Hi Anna,
I think it's great that you're already hoping to get into Harvard as a sophomore. I would encourage you to focus on your schoolwork and get a good GPA. Doing well on the SAT or ACT exam is also very important for most colleges. You can use Google to find out the range of GPA and SAT or ACT scores of students that were accepted to Harvard.
I think finding a way to make yourself stand out through your essay is the best way to differentiate yourself in order to get accepted at Harvard. If you start a club or volunteer group or have a unique life approach or challenge, you will catch the eye of the admissions group.
Best of luck with all of your college applications!

Hi Anna!
I agree with Alissa's suggestions, but wanted to add to her point about differentiating yourself. A common approach for high achievers planning to apply to Ivy League schools is to join as many activities as possible, really packing their resume. However, I have found that schools like Harvard love to see when a student has developed a passion, whether for a hobby or club or cause, to which they've dedicated a lot of time and attention. This shows that you can commit to a long-term project and will likely give you some really valuable experiences to use in your personal statements.
