Yes. All jobs in creative fields are very competitive. You'll need to focus on getting good at one thing. Start with the foundations of art, drawing especially. Then learn about the production pipeline, so you can find your niche.

Money?

You won't make money. This is the wrong business if you like money. You will be lucky to pay your rent animating. And if you are considered good, you will be bouncing from one short term gig to the next. Like most creative fields.

Cheers,

Jason

Mansi’s Answer

It's pretty hard, especially if you're set on being a character animator specifically. There's a lot of other animation jobs out there besides character animation which might strike your fancy more, but for some reason nobody talks about those. But then of course never loose hope and always follow your passion.
