Stephanie’s Answer

Hi Angela,

Are you looking to play soccer? Or would you be interested in Sports & Health Sciences?

You might find jobs in corporate wellness, coaching, or being a fitness trainer for Soccer. Being a trainer or coach you might come face to face with technology for analyzing movements and performance. Most of these jobs require Kinesiology or Physical Education education. Kinesiology is the study of human movement, health and recreation and typically requires at least an Associates degree (2 year program)

You can also find jobs in the technology field building apps or programs for soccer too! Most colleges offer some type of technology program whether its in Computer Science or Information Systems where you can gain some exposure to that too.

I hope this helps!

Stephanie

Payton’s Answer

Hi Angela!

I also have combined interests in soccer and technology. I played soccer in college and we used some technologies in our program. These technologies included Soccer Pulse (an application that tracks the health of players), and teamXtreme (a streaming platform that allows the upload and viewing of games and practices).

Technologies like those I mentioned above are great ways to get into the tech field while staying engaged in the sport of soccer! Hope this helps.

Vince’s Answer

Hi Angela,

Data analysis is becoming more and more important to clubs of all sizes. You see it in everything from the trackers that players wear during practices and games to the specialized hydration solutions that they are given based on their body make-up. As the field grows, we are even seeing the analysis derived from things like the Football Manager series training young people to hone these skills. I would suggest starting down a track involving data analysis to see if it is something that interests you.

Technology is already such a huge part of our lives and it is wonderful to see it being used to make the beautiful game even more beautiful. Good luck in your search!
