I studied Software Development & Marketing @ University here in Australia as a Double Major. It is always really helpful to have a mixed skillset in technology/ICT as it allows you to approach problems with a slightly different mindset than one of pure tech.
My career thus far has been pretty diverse (and fun!) and I credit that in no small part to the dual degree that allowed me to be both technical and creative. The mixed degree may also set you apart from others you may be competing with in the jobs market as you'll have an extra 'string to your bow' so to speak. You may find yourself drawn to commerce based Software dev opportunities where you can combine your skills.

Hi Dharmik,
Depending on what aspect of the software business you want to be part of, the degree you choose is really flexible! Personally, I studied marketing and I now work in software sales. You can study computer science or software engineering if you want to move into the technical side, or any business related degree for the rest of the business.

Hi Dharmik,
There are a few ways you could go with business and IT. One would be to work your way into an executive level IT role. For this route, I would recommend getting with a computer science or IT degree and then go on to your MBA. You'll have to move your way through the ranks, but it could get you there.
Another route would be to go into a Management Information Systems degree. This is a great way to meld business and IT together, because in this field you are creating applications that solve complex business problems.
A third way would be to go into eCommerce, but that will be more on the lines of management of IT products and not as much involved on the technical aspect.
There is also going down the path of Product or Project Management where you are managing the budget and resources or tech projects. For this you will need a computer science degree and then you will want to get a role on a project team. Ultimately you will need to earn a Project Management Certification.
These are just a few possible options. The sky is the limit in this area. Please feel free to reach out to me with questions. Hope this helps.
