Anna’s Answer

Only be involved in a club if you are truly interested in it, not just for a resume. It should help you be a better leader and team player. And also you will make some new friends!

Whitney’s Answer

I think being involved in clubs in college is a great idea! They'll make your resume better and make you have a great college experience. I would join clubs that either are involved with hobbies and interests you have or ones that have to do with what you want to do in the future. You'll learn a lot, meet people with similar interests and goals, and usually have fun as well.

If you are in these clubs early on and stay involved for a few years, you potentially could run for an officer position. Once again, this would look even better on a resume because you are even more involved and taking on leadership roles. At the end of the day, you still want to make sure you want to do it and it will benefit you a lot more!

Whitney recommends the following next steps:

Search for clubs at your campus involving your hobbies or future career goals
Become involved with the club by participating in meetings, events, and any opportunities they may have
Run for a officer position to gain additional experience and leadership
