Dear Mariana,

I think it's GREAT that you are looking into your options now- There are so MANY choices for great nursing schools. I think the best way to decide is to look at cost and location. Check out the schools around you. You might google BSN and your city to see what schools in your area provide a bachelor's in Nursing degree. I believe most hospitals in the future will require a BSN to work there....some are already doing this now. If you work hard on your grades in high school, you have a better chance of getting a scholarship to attend school at a reduced cost. I wish you the best of luck in the future! Nursing is a great career!

It is probably very different than what you are expecting. I would talk to family members who are nurses and talk to people who work in hospitals and keep your mind open to different careers you may find appealing over the next 10+ years. To answer your question, it honestly and completely does not matter what school you go to. Each school will teach you what you need to know and no prospective employer is going to care where you went to school unless they are affiliated with that school (University of Kansas Health Center likes University of Kansas students and that sort of thing). The education required to be a nurse is nationally standardized so each school will end up teaching you the same thing that will best allow you to pass your state licensing exam after your education is complete so you may go wherever is cheapest, best location, closest to home, farthest from home, where your friends go, where your friends don't go, where your favorite sports team is, whichever school has the best cafeteria, whatever the reason, you can go to your college of choice and, as long as they have a nursing school, you will graduate find a job
