eddie’s Answer

As an artist and also I have worked in a field of recreational therapist I was able to use my art to assist clients with relaxing and help control emotional stress in life and wellness. I was able to use the different texture paints and add to the paint to add more texture to great a sensory feel and such to relax and etc.

Hwal’s Answer

Bianca,

I'm a PA student but I've worked with art therapists at an inpatient behavioral health unit in a hospital, and thought to offer a different aspect of what they do. The therapists I've worked with all seemed to enjoy their work, and haven't heard about emotional difficulties or work-life balance.

From what I've seen, the therapists plan and lead arts and crafts activities with patients in small groups. They take attendance, attend team/case meetings with the unit staff, and meet with patients individually to discuss their strengths and challenges to come up with different activities they particularly enjoy or modify current programs to meet the needs of the patients better.

I hope this helps.

Hwal
