I agree with the previous answer. All cases are about something, not just pure law. Sciences are also helpful if the case pertains to a law enforcement matter with lots of scientific evidence. For example, vehicle stopping distances vary depending on type of surface (asphalt, concrete), age of the surface, wet/dry, condition of the tires, condition of the brakes, condition of the driver.

I would encourage you to take a Logic course, truly learn the rules of grammar, get involved in speech and debate, and above all, develop note taking and studying techniques that work for you.

Best of luck!

Kim

Krisztina’s Answer

Law school requires a lot of reading, writing, and analysis. Any major that exposes you to these areas is great. Also, if you are good in the sciences, having an undergrad degree in science would allow you to take the patent bar. Even if you are not interested in patents, it is good to have options in the future. There is a lot of legal work these days involving technology transactions, and having a science degree could help you to better defend and/or prosecute your client’s interests. Psychology degrees can be helpful for anyone wishing to practice family law. Explore the subjects that you are interested in and come naturally to you.
