lohith’s Answer

Becoming a computer engineer requires a college education that can take from four to seven years to complete. In the first two years of a bachelor’s degree program, students typically finish computer engineering prerequisites and general education courses. The last two years focus on foundational classes in computer science, electrical engineering and mathematics. Students typically study software, hardware, networking and security. Many employers prefer engineers with advanced degrees, which means two more years of master’s degree work to qualify for those jobs. If one wants to applied research then you can also complete PhD in computer engineering.

There are multiple degree formats at the bachelor’s degree level, including the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering (BSCSE), the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCE), and the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering Technology (BSCET). One typically requires between 120 and 128 semester credits to complete, the curriculum is divided between general education and computer engineering classes. Broadly, students develop foundational technical skills by studying programming languages, databases, computer and network architecture, and electro-mechanical systems.

For students who cannot attend a four-year program initially, then an associate degree program in computer science or related IT field of study at a community college or trade school can be a solid first step. Some community college students can save on tuition while completing their general education requirements, because tuition at these schools is sometimes more affordable than at four-year schools.

Ayan’s Answer

A bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or related field typically takes four years to complete and is the most common entry point for a career as a computer engineer. Two pathways to become a computer engineer. One plan is to obtain the bachelor of science in electrical engineering degree where you will have electrical engineering as a major with emphasis in computer engineering. The other path is to obtain the bachelor of science in computer engineering degree where you essentially become a computer engineering major.

Syed’s Answer

you need to do 10+2 schooling and post that you can either do 4 years engineering or you could also try with 3 years bachelors in computer application, however bachelors in computer application is not enough and you would have to do 2 years Masters in the smae to get best opportunity.
make sure you get graduated from a good university to have maximum opportunities post graduation.

Dave’s Answer

When I was starting out, 2 years with an associate degree was all that it took to get started. Now, a 4 year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems is a requirement. Advanced degrees beyond that would be needed if you wanted to progress farther in the field , although I've had people on my teams that have had computer science degrees and MBA's. As your career progresses, you'll find that hiring managers pay more attention to your work experience and industry certifications than your academic education background. But, a 4 year degree is a necessity and a 4 year degree with some internship experience will be a definite edge.
