You will always have a variety of personalities and abilities in each class. The hard part is to try to adapt to every individual. Can be challenging when you have the vast majority who listen and respond well but you also need to reach the challenging students because they might be the ones who need you the most. Just keep an open mind and an open heart.

The hardest thing about being a teacher is making sure that your personality traits match with those who have become successful teachers and then talking to successful teachers and seeing if there is indeed a fit and getting their advice and suggestions. Too many teachers have skipped these steps and found that they really were not well suited for the myriad of tasks required of a teacher.
Getting to know yourself and how your personality traits relate to people involved in various career opportunities is very important in your decision making process. During my many years in Human Resources and College Recruiting, I ran across too many students who had skipped this very important step and ended up in a job situation which for which they were not well suited. Selecting a career area is like buying a pair of shoes. First you have to be properly fitted for the correct size, and then you need to try on and walk in the various shoe options to determine which is fits the best and is most comfortable for you to wear.
