Estelle’s Answer

I have four kids in college and graduate school right now and they always take either a laptop or an ipad to class.

Kim’s Answer

This depends on the class. I always use a steno notepad, which seems easier since I am a leftie. Highlighters, pens, pocket folders. If it is intense in vocabulary, I use index cards. If the test will be open-note, open-book, I use the little index tabs on the side of the pages so I can quickly find the main subjects. Lots of students bring computers to class, but I like taking notes the old-fashioned way. But, if the professor will be discussing a powerpoint presentation that she has uploaded to the class site, you might want to be able to add notes as she goes.

And of course, your creature comfort items, esp. if it is a once a week 3 hr class -stuff to keep you comfortable and awake! gum, sour candy, water, sweater, lotion, eyedrops, etc.

Best of luck!
