Anna’s Answer

Hi Hannah! I am currently a Senior English major and discovered a great opportunity this summer. If you are interested in working online, freelancing can be a great option to gain experience in creative writing! I am personally working through Upwork.com and have had great success copywriting. I am not a creative writer, but I have seen multiple ghostwriting and creative writing opportunities. Don't be afraid to branch out! And (unlike a lot of writing internships) you will get paid, which is a major bonus!

Brittany’s Answer

Hello Hannah,

While I didn't major in Creative writing , I did have it as my minor during my four years of college. One thing that I would have certainly tried for as an internship if my minor was a major, would have been going around to many local libraries and trying to work with children in the children's section of any one of the libraries. Another thing that you could try is going onto Indeed and typing in "creative writing internships" . There are so many available ones that you could do while in college or even over the summer.

Brittany recommends the following next steps:

Go to https://www.indeed.com/
Type in "Creative Writing Internships" in the search field provided.
Type in where you want to work in the next search field provided and click find jobs.
A list of jobs tailored to 'Creative Writing Internships" will be displayed before you. Click on a particular job you are interested in and go for it !
