Would it be a good idea to minor in business with a Clinical Laboratory Sciences major?

I just recently changed my major to Clinical Laboratory Sciences and I would like to pursue my own business as well.

LaRita’s Answer

Not a bad idea, because if you minor in business management that can put you on track in the future to become a supervisor/manager. However, if that is what you're seeking I would say look into healthcare administration as a minor, this will give you that business aspect you're seeking but it will be focused on Business in the healthcare relm.

Good luck with Clinical Lab Sciences

LaRita recommends the following next steps:

Decide what you're trying to do with Business as a minor, if its healthcare related you might be able to take another track

Amanda’s Answer

I think a business minor is always a safe idea! Studying business will give you valuable knowledge about how a business works which will come in handy whether you are working for a corporation or starting your own business. A minor in business would also provide you with the flexibility to move into other fields, since the business minor should give you some background in finance, accounting, economics, HR, and information systems.

If I were you -- I would go for it!

Amanda recommends the following next steps:

Research the courses required for the business minor at your school
Read a book about business entrepreneurship to see if it interests you
