Location is important! However, I would also consider the type of institution and the demographic that you feel that you would best serve.

I.E. a D1 major sports school, small private school, for-profit inner city school, community college

I would go to the website www.bls.gov. The Bureau of Labor Statistics has all kinds of information to answer questions like yours. From the homepage, select "OES Maps." Then under "Major Occupational Group" select, "Education, Training, and Library. In the category below that, "Occupation," choose whatever type of teaching you are interested in , and then in the final category, "Measure," choose "Employment by state. You'll get a map that shows you which states have the most jobs. Spend some time on this site, and you can find all kinds of information. I hope this helps. Here is a direct link to the map:
