When applying to jobs as a professional do they see if you were involved with the university?
I’m thinking of getting more involved with the university and I know that it opens doors and opportunities but I want to know more specifically if it makes a difference when you apply to a job after you graduate. #fiu #miami

I myself am an FIU Alum. It depends on the company. Some companies look for candidates that are involved in their university or volunteer in their community. I was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity at FIU. It shows companies you have a sense of community and social skills which indicates you can work in a team environment. In addition, it helps build your network. Networking is an important part of building your career.

Great Question ! Getting involved around the university can be excellent resume builders. Being involved can demonstrate your ability to handle not only your classes but a extra responsibilities as well. The key is to balance those and ensure that academics take priority.
As you mentioned, campus involvement can also be a great way to network, which can open doors in the future. Additionally, if you get involved with something aligned to your degree, it can give you exposure before you graduate.
