How many hours a night will you not be studying if you want to be a doctor?
When I was in medical school, I had little time for anything else, other than eating and sleeping. I averaged 4-5 hours a night sleep. For years, my life revolved around going to class, going to lab, going to rotations, and studying until bed. I hardly spent quality time with my family. I lost track of friends. It was surely the hardest four years and was very isolating. The medical field is difficult. Your studying will not end with medical school, but continues through residency and as an attending physician.
Know that it is a long term commitment, and that you will likely need to put many other aspects of your life aside until your studies are complete.
However, it can be a very satisfying life, knowing that you have contributed to the health of thousands of people.

So medical school is a very intense process, but as for studying you can decide when and how you would like to do that. I am a morning person, so I do not study past 11:30 pm normally. I would rather wake up at 5:30/6 AM to study. Regardless, there is going to be lots of studying during medical school. Also, the last two years of medical school are in hospital rotations, therefore, you will need to spend time outside of the hospital studying. Again, this might be at night or the morning for you. You will need to find a good plan that works for you and then stick with it! Best of luck
