Hello Anna: Do you mean cheer coach? If so, take a look at:

https://www.onetonline.org/find/quick?s=cheerleading. This website can help you understand the details of being an athletic coach including skills required, education recommended, and pay range. If you mean being a cheerleader, I'd suggest googling "how can I become a professional cheerleader?" and review at least three different sites to compare and use the information that is the same on each site. Typically, cheer leaders have a background in dance, cheering, or gymnastics from which to build upon. I would imagine it to be difficult for someone from any other area to take up the sport since it requires a specific set of skills and abilities. I have seen documentaries of the Dallas Cowboy chearleaders and other professional cheerleaders who explained that they just had to tryout, have a certain body type and "look" and they were in. They did give a word of caution about the pay being extremely small, not enough to live on, so each had an additional job to support them and just cheered in season and conditioned in offseason.

I truely hope this helps you and best of luck in your future endeavors. If I didn't quite fully answer your question, feel free to write again to clarify your question.

Anna;
Wow a STEM camp, how exciting. Cheerleading is exciting too, so sounds like you are on your way to bettering yourself and your community. As a 6th grader, having a vision of what you want to do upon graduation is important. That vision is going to grow and morph many times over the next few years, but having a direction is the hardest step. Owning and running your own business requires hard work, long hours, support and capitol. As Lashay commented above you may have to modify your vision to be a secondary goal, but talk to your current cheer coach. Get advice. Research and contact competition organizers, see if you can set up an phone interview where you can ask questions. The more information you have the better decisions you can make.
