What are the best ways to study from a class with a lot of material to memorize such as history?

I have been just rereading my notes from class and quizzing myself, but I don't think it is the ideal way. #classes #college #studytips

The following way works for me:
1. reformat notes to timeline figure
2. add several bullet points to each time/event (e.g., what happened, why, who and when, connection between events)

Hello Aiesha,

Everyone retains information differently.  The first thing to remember is not to overload your mind with too much information at one time.  The best way too study for a class that has a lot of material to cover is to study from the beginning and not wait until the last minute.  Try creating practice quiz questions on paper and take them as if they were real.  Try reading the information that you need to retain out loud versus to yourself,  this helps some people retain the information.  The last technique is to have someone (friends, family members)test you by asking the possible quiz questions.  I hope this helps.
