Do dual enrollment students apply as freshmen or transfers?

I am a dual enrollment student doing college applications. Am I supposed to apply as a transfer student because I'm technically enrolled in college? #student #college-student #dualenrollment

Hi Grace! You always want to check with the university you are applying to. However, in my experience, you typically apply as a freshman, but can get transfer credit that goes toward the total amount of credit you need to graduate from the university. A lot of times this credit goes toward general education classes, but again it depends on the university. Typically students and advisors in the admissions office are super happy to help with these types of questions!

Jason’s Answer

Hey Grace,

I would recommend contacting the admissions office at the school for which you are applying. They should be able to provide guidance on how best to complete the application process.

Best of luck!
