Chris’s Answer

You can expect endless opportunities. The field is so diversified and the best suggestion is keep your mind open to what area if nursing you may want. Before nursing school I strongly suggest volunteering at a hospital. Not everyone is cut out for the medical field. See if you can handle the reality. Start with Emergency Medicine.

Carolyn’s Answer

Very tough academics-most schools don't really allow you to be nursing majors until you pass certain pre requisites and obtain certain grades. The major tends to be very competitive. If you do make it, you can expect to participate in clinical rotations most likely around junior year where you will gain real world experience usually in a hospital setting. You should be prepared to take the NCLEX soon after graduation
