Why are there no schoarships or grants for the Project Management Field?

Project management is my major and I am unable to find any scholarships that pertain to my area of study #projectmanagement

Thank you comment icon I would agree with most of what everyone else stated, try looking into the PMI first but I'd suggest looking at Project Management in a particular field or industry. Project management is used across almost every industry, I have been a PM myself in manufacturing, engineering, and telecom... So, it is extremely broad and your best chance would try to really focus on a field you would like to work in as a project manager and try that. Brian Mazurowski

While scholarships for the Project Management field may not be as abundant as other fields, there are in fact scholarships available. Take a moment to review the academic scholarship section on the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation site linked here.

Alex’s Answer

Specific scholarships will be limited based on the sponsors but most scholarships are applicable for all fields. I would recommend getting familiar with Project Management Institute (PMI - https://www.pmi.org/) and identify if there is a local chapter in your area that offers scholarship to up and coming project managers.

Raelyn’s Answer

PMI has a Sponsorship Research Program - https://www.pmi.org/learning/academic-research/sponsored... its not specifically for project management, but more so the research to improve and innovate project management. Project management is so widely used in many industries that there aren't many PM grants, so try to look at each industry (wireless/telecom, construction, energy, etc.) for industry specific grants available.

Chris’s Answer

Good Morning - While scholarships for project management are not as abundant as other, there are still oppurtunities to get assistance. There are a LOT of companies that provide reimbursement / paid education based on certain job titles. If you are serious about getting into project management, you can look at companies you are interested in working for, and contact them directly. Getting your foot in the door may be as important as that degree.

Chris recommends the following next steps:

Begin by looking at the companies / industry you are interested in.
Get involved in intern programs / or a starter role.

SHONIKA’s Answer

Hi Rob - Another way to consider scholarships is searching in general for anything available, not just limited to your major, that way you can take advantage of any field you choose to use your PM degree in. Scholly is a website/app that my cousins have used recently to search for anything that's available.

Check it out. https://myscholly.com/
