Why do you think that you need a dual degree? The best way to answer this question is to get to know yourself better to see how your personality traits are aligned with those of teachers and talk to people who are successful teachers to see what they would have to say.
Getting to know yourself and how your personality traits relate to people involved in various career opportunities is very important in your decision making process. During my many years in Human Resources and College Recruiting, I ran across too many students who had skipped this very important step and ended up in a job situation which for which they were not well suited. Selecting a career area is like buying a pair of shoes. First you have to be properly fitted for the correct size, and then you need to try on and walk in the various shoe options to determine which is fits the best and is most comfortable for you to wear. Following are some important steps which I developed during my career which have been helpful to many .

Hi Ashley,
I actually pursued a dual degree - one in special education and one in elementary education. I had to complete two internships - one for each major. That meant I was in school an extra semester to complete the work. I'm happy I did! I became a special education teacher for many years, but then decided I wanted to just be a regular teacher and could because I had the elementary certificate. I'm still teaching today and both majors have made me the best teacher and I learned so much.
Look into several colleges to see what they offer and how long it will take you. I went to Bowling Green State in Ohio and I highly recommend it. But, there are great schools all over the US. You want to find out first - what will be my dual major (what do you love); then - which school offers me the best path. Start looking now. I decided on Bowling Green in my junior year of high school. Great decision and I'm happy for having a dual degree!
Good luck,
Stephanie
