What are some good tips for remaining financially stable throughout college without taking time away from school to work?

I am very athletic and I require lots of food, but that can get expensive quickly. #college

Hi Zachary A. I see that you posted this question a little while ago so I hope my answer to you (or others who may read this response) is still helpful.

I recall that when I was in college, my meal plan did not cover weekends. I had other friends in the same boat...so...we learned to pitch in as a group...and...cook :)

As you have indicated that you are an athlete, you may appreciate being in a position to buy, cook and eat healthy foods. And in the year 2020, when there is so much online help for good cooking and so many options for delivery of "farm to table" foods, you may find that you enjoy cooking. In the long run, my friends and I save loads of money, ate pretty well and enjoyed our cooking time together.

Hope you find this advice helpful.

Hi, I found getting a part time job with minimum and flexible hours very helpful for providing some financial stability through college. A weekend shift to get some extra money for the week could help with shopping for food etc.

Here are some good tips on reducing the cost of college: ##  http://www.educationplanner.org/students/paying-for-school/ways-to-pay/reduce-college-costs.shtml ##

College really does not have to cost a lot of money. Too many people pile up unnecessarily high student debt.  It really does not matter what school you attend, as the most important factors are how well you do with the school work, which is an indication to an employer about what kind of employee you will be, and the effort that you put forth in your networking to set up networking connections that will help you throughout your education/career journey.
