Your quest for knowledge that will lead towards your success in your education/career journey starts with getting to know yourself better to find the career area in which your personality traits relate to people who are successful in that career area and then talking with them to see what they do, how they got there, and what suggestions and advice that they might have for you.
Getting to know yourself and how your personality traits relate to people involved in various career opportunities is very important in your decision making process. During my many years in Human Resources and College Recruiting, I ran across too many students who had skipped this very important step and ended up in a job situation which for which they were not well suited. Selecting a career area is like buying a pair of shoes. First you have to be properly fitted for the correct size, and then you need to try on and walk in the various shoe options to determine which is fits the best and is most comfortable for you to wear. Following are some important steps which I developed during my career which have been helpful to many .

Hi Karen- I really enjoy your question! It is so great that you have this mindset, and that you are taping into other people's knowledge banks to find sources of inspiration. What works for me is that I often listen to podcasts through my podcast app on my phone. My favorite podcast right now is the "TED Radio Hour". These podcasts are an hour long, and they summarize a handful of TED talks that hit on the same themes. If you are unfamiliar with the platform "TED", google some of the talks on youtube. They are speeches given from individuals who have experience in an area, and want to share a specific thought or idea with the public. These talks hit on everything from health trends to politics to pop culture. I would guarantee that you'd find a talk that sparked your interest. These TED talks often mentions books or movies or events that will further spark your interest and allow you to take action to try something new. I find that these always satisfy my desire for more knowledge.
