What prerequisites are necessary for a Music Teaching Education major?

I want to major in Music Teaching Education, and when I looked up the required classes I saw that there were no basic English, History, Math, or Science classes on the list. I was under the impression that those basic core classes would be required, at least for a quarter or two of each, in order to get any degree. Was I wrong in my assumption? #college-major #music #prerequisites

You will still take all your core classess. Usually you won't get into your major classes until the second semester of your sophomore year. For most colleges and universities you will be required to take those courses.

Those classes are done on a per-college basis. So if you look up general education requirements for your college, you'll see the basic classes you'll need to take. As a music major, I've only had to take 1 English class, 1 Math class and 1 Science class because my school allows a lot of options for GEs but as an education major or at a school with a more strict core, you may have to take more.
