Hello Vanissa,

Typically your training in OT will include a professional non-paid or paid internship. Parley this to a possible entry (foot in the door) at the organization you are doing your internship for a full time or part time job to start. At the very least you can use the internship as a job reference and make professional connections, references for your next employer.

You will need to complete a program for OT. For example a MOT or DOT program.

MOT = Master of Occupational Therapy
DOT = Doctor of Occupational Therapy

There are also avenues for you to enter Occupational Therapy as an Occupational Therapy assistant. Again you would need to complete specific course work.
