Physical therapy is a great field to work in as a result the colleges gets impacted. The demand is high because the reward is high. My advice is get as much experience as you can get as an aide or intern at a PT clinic and apply out of state if possible. If possible get letter of recommendation and good grades to further increase your chances.

Physical therapy is a very rewarding field and has been voted in the top 10 professions for several years. In some cases it has been found to be harder to get in to PT school than Med school. I recommend applying to several schools and not focusing on only 1 or 2 as most schools only start once a year. Also look into out of state schools
