Rachel’s Answer

Typically the practice SAT is given early in high school as a way to prepare you for the SAT.

You should then plan on taking the actual SAT sometime during you junior year. Once you have taken the test and gotten your score back, you want to have time to take it again if necessary prior to applying for college.

Katie’s Answer

I suggest taking the SAT/ACT at least once as a junior or even earlier. This will give you an opportunity to understand the testing environment and discover any weaknesses that may negatively impact your score,

After taking the SAT several times, I used a computer tutorial to better understand where I was struggling on the test. I discovered that I was answering the questions incorrectly because I did fully read all the choices. I was able to significantly increase my score from one test to the next.
