Hello Paul, visit you high school's college and career center and if you school does not have one, then visit a local high school that does. They will help you to understand the overall process and steps necessary. Pending where you go the application sites are different. Good luck!

I would say that the first step is to do research on the type of colleges and programs you are looking for. Then when you have a decent list of schools that you would like to apply to, go to the college's web sites and check the requirements for an application. Then you can start working on what you need, whether it's letters of recommendation, essays, specific test scores, etc. Once you have all of the materials needed (and funds for those schools with application fees), then you go through the website to fill out the application form and submit your materials.
