My favorite study technique was to write down everything! Writing helps in the memory process which is critical in preparing for college exams. I would review professor powerpoints and create my own study guide - all hand written. I would also re-write my notes.

Hi Amanda, not necessarily a "new" technique but I also found it better to force myself out of my apartment and into a study location such as a coffee shop or library or outside on a picnic table. I was easily distracted with TV, chores, pets, etc. so found that if I dedicated myself some time away I would focus 100% on studying and assignments. I would also leave my cell phone in the car so that I was not distracted by apps or email. Just a couple tips that I think make a big difference and helps focus.
