Shivali’s Answer

Some other things to consider would be school size and location - are you looking for a big school, or a small one? In a city, or a more rural area? Public or private? The environment you are in can have a big impact on your experience, so it is worth keeping in mind.

Pamela’s Answer

Hi Alondra,

First you would want to decide what career/industry you want to be in. This will help you research degree programs related to your field and the schools where they are located. Second, make a list of those schools and go online to review them. Take virtual tours if available. Contact program advisors with specific questions. Narrow your choices down to 2 or 3 schools. Third, if possible, try to physically visit your top 3 schools in person.

Keep in mind there are other factors to consider as well such as the cost of tuition. Will you be paying In-state or Out-of-state tuition. How will you pay for college? Are there scholarships available? Or will you use financial aid or student loans. Are community or junior colleges an option?

This is a big decision so give yourself plenty of time to conduct proper research. You can start researching as soon as Sophomore year. Good Luck!
