Corinne’s Answer

I was in OT school so many years ago and I do see that the level of instruction and difficulty of the course really depends on which school you go to . My advice , go to the best school you are accepted to . That way you will have the better training and skill set needed to do the job after graduation.  Everything that is worth while takes hard work, and yes , it is a course that requires work.  Good luck.

Corinne recommends the following next steps:

Make sure this is your career .The hard work comes after graduation.

Amy’s Answer

OT is a very interesting career. We can work with children in hospitals and schools, people with mental health issues, people who got hurt in an accident or on the job, seniors, and in my case- adults with brain injuries either from birth or that happen latter in life. Lots of OT's become specialists in one area- especially hand therapy, sensory integration therapy (usually with kids), swallowing issues or like me they help people get the equipment they need, like wheelchairs and shower chairs, while making sure their homes are as safe and accessible as possible. OT's can change track whenever they like but may need to get extra training before starting a new job.
