There is no major that "requires" medical school. There are majors that align well with medical school, such as biology, only because they already require a lot of the same pre-med requirements that you have to take anyway to go to medical school. However, you can major in ANYTHING and still go on to med school as long as you have taken the pre-med requirements (e.g. biology, chemistry, physics, biochemistry, organic chemistry, etc.).

To answer if it's worth it, being a doctor is only worth it if you TRULY want to be a doctor, and nothing else. There are a ton of other ways you can help people and a ton of other ways you can work in healthcare that don't require 8+ years of schooling, thousands of dollars of debt, and frequent standardized testing. If you want to find out more about whether or not being a doctor is for you, I'd recommend doing some research and talking to doctors that you know to see their perspective on it.

Yes! It is absolutely worth it. There are a lot of long hours studying in the library followed by long hours in the hospital, but it is a fulfilling career. There are so many opportunities after medical school... different specialties appeal to different individuals. Or you can follow a nonclinical route in research or even hospital administration.
