The main skill set to success on any streaming platform are: charisma, playing skill, effective communication and knowing your audience. Right now, due the saturation on all video-streaming platforms is really hard getting a paid return from your time.


Therefore, answering to your question, I would suggest critical writing, drama (theater) and video editing. HOWEVER, you can learn most of the core skills on your free time. Stay focused, be consistent and make scheduled publications in the gaming platform and social media.


My recommendation is to make it as a hobby, have fun and learn all about social impact, video editing and public speaking. You also need to get some luck to get viewers. If you want to pursue this career, start small and think about writing a high level idea of the video; then write a short script.


You will find that you have a great time editing, recording, playing and then sharing on social medias.

I agree with Jake. That is a fantastic aspiration to be a gaming youtuber, but you may need a day job. I would suggest starting with the basic classes like English, Writing, and HIstory, and see what interests you. A degree in radio-television-film may also be helpful.
