Reshma’s Answer

Hello Chris,

There are several certifications you can look into such as project management, Lean six sigma, and SCRUM master certification. I recommend researching each one to identify what may fit with the type of internship you are pursuing. If you decide not to pursue a certification, you can also look for an open online course that covers any of those concepts.

Neha’s Answer

I think more than getting certified, understand the basics of public health administration versus a single hospital system. There are newsletters and glossaries online for understanding the terminology specific to Healthcare Tech. A lot of the challenge right now is ensuring patient information security while making patient data transfer easier - understanding why that is a problem and how your skillset can be used to come up with a solution is going to set you up for success.

Neha recommends the following next steps:

Learn about different stakeholders in healthcare
Understand healthcare specific terminology
Read healthcare tech news - know about the current problems

Chris’s Answer

Are you asking what majors are applicable? If so, anything Computer Science related is going to give you a nice baseline to help you land an internship.
