Here are a few steps in the right direction to help you get started on your path to become a RN (Registered Nurse):
Step 1: Choose a Nursing Path. Nursing can take you in many directions, from a staff nurse to a head nurse. Step 2: Earn a Degree. The career path you're interested in pursuing will typically dictate the type of nursing degree you need.
Step 3: Get Licensed.

It really depends on the college you attend-"nursing school" is the college classes required to become a Registered Nurse. There are 2 different ways colleges usually do admission to nursing school. Some (like the one I attended) are "direct admit" which means you apply your senior year of high school and if accepted start your nursing curriculum your first year. The other programs require that you take a set amount of pre-reqs prior to applying to their nursing program , so you may be required to take all your basic class and then apply, once accepted you would start your nursing classes.
